Hitting 100 Followers and Brunch at Duck & Waffle

My little blog hit 100 followers on Bloglovin'!! I know that might seem like a tiny number to you but it means the world to me. When I first started blogging I had the thought that having 100 followers would be crazy because that's a lot of people to be interested in my ramblings about makeup products. I'm so happy that I've reached this number, it's just nice to know there are people out there that are reading my blog and interested in what I have to say.

Anyways enough of me being soppy, to celebrate I really wanted to go to the Sky Garden for breakfast but unfortunately they were all booked up. So me, my sister, her boyfriend and a friend of mine managed to book a table for brunch at Duck & Waffle which is another place I've been waiting to try out for ages now.

Duck & Waffle is located at 100 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AY on the 40th floor and it is the highest restaurant in London that's open 24 hours a day. If you are travelling there by tube, we got off at Liverpool Street Station and it was only a short walk to get there from the station.

I'm not going to lie to you, riding up 40 floors in a glass evaluator was pretty scary and it did make my ears pop. But being that high up was great as we got to see the incredible views surrounding us across parts of Central London. As you can see from the photo the building was right next to the Gherkin. It was such a shame that on the day we went it was super cloudy as I imagine looking out onto London from there when it's sunny would be beautiful.

Once we got to the 40th floor we walked through the bar bit to get to the restaurant, it was a pretty cool bar and I think it would be good to have a cocktail there while watching the sun set over London. The restaurant was open on three sides so wherever you sit you can catch a glimpse of the view. If you want to get a seat with the best view then you need to grab a table of two as they line the perimeter of the restaurant.

Before my visit, I scrolled through Instagram looking at all of Duck & Waffle's yummy food. The waffles, in particular, looked incredible but I'm not a massive waffle fan or was feeling adventurous enough to try out the Egg, Duck & Waffle combo. The three of us opted for the House Breakfast while my sister went for the Colombian Eggs.

The House Breakfast came with Lincolnshire sausage, two eggs, dry cured bacon, grilled tomato, mushroom, hash brown, Scottish black pudding and a Cheddar & buttermilk scone. Overall it was a really well done full English. A highlight for me was the hash browns that were made into a ball, I could have eaten about 10 of them! I thought I hated poached eggs because the one's I tried tasted like rubber but I tried some of these poached eggs and they were some of the best eggs I've ever tasted!! It was so nice to have a lovely cup of proper coffee along with my meal and the only thing I didn't like was the cheesy scone.

My sister had avocado, sourdough toast, scrambled eggs and added a side of smoked salmon. She really liked the added touch of salt flakes on her food but wasn't really a fan of the eggs. I think it was because the scrambled eggs were made with tomato and spring onions.

It is on the pricer end for normal breakfast and brunch things but Duck & Waffle is defo worth a visit if you're around London. The customer service we got was amazing, it wasn't a long wait to get our food at all and our waiter was always around our table in case we needed anything. I defo want to go back and so I can enjoy more food and drink while I'm 40 floors up above London.

So there was my little review of Duck & Waffle, I had such a great time celebrating my little blog's milestone. Have any of you been before or know of any cool brunch spots I should try next?
