Superdrug Own Brand Pamper Bits Review

I hunted down the Superdrug own brand pore strips after hearing Jasmine McRae, link to her here, rave about them on her blog and youtube channel. While I was picking up a couple packs I noticed that Superdrug has their own version of hydrating eye patches which I thought I would give a go as well as they were super cheap too. Honestly, my pores recently have been screaming out to have the dirt ripped out of them and I love trying out any product that wants to inject a bit more hydration into my skin. Both these skincare bits are under £1.50 and I was really interested to see if they would have any effect on my skin.

Superdrug Ultra-Purifying Nose Pore Strips, £1.29:
These pore strips gently draw out dirt and grime. They help to remove dead skin cells, leaving behind visibly cleaner pores. Charcoal and Volcanic Ash to help absorb excess sebum. You are supposed to wet your nose before applying the strip, then apply for 10-12 mins and remove slowly when the strip goes stiff. You get 2 nose strips, in the resealable packet, which smell really good and are easy to apply as they are really sticky.

I'm really glad I picked up two packs because the first couple of times I tried the pore strips I was really disappointed because they didn't seem to remove any of the dirt from my pores. The only thing it did seem to do was make my nose feel really smooth. A tip to get them to work properly is you have to make your nose really wet before putting it on. Then after it's on dampen the top of the pore strip and that will help it to harden and remove all the impurities from your nose. After I did it this way I found I removed so much gross stuff from my pores, they looked clean and was so smooth. I really don't have a high tolerance for pain so I find these sting quite a bit when you slowly take them off.

Superdrug Refreshing Hydrogel Eye Patches, £1.49:
These eye patches are designed to instantly refresh and moisturise the eye area, helping to minimise signs of fatigue and puffiness. With mineral-rich Sea Algae, Gardenia Extract & Caffeine. The pack only comes with one set of patches which you are supposed to apply for 10-15 mins then rub in any residue left behind.

I decided not to put the eye patches in the fridge before I used them because I wanted to see how cooling they are naturally and they do have a bit of a cooling sensation to them! My under eyes did look and feel more hydrated throughout the day. I did expect for them to be a bit more hydrating as when I removed the patches there wasn't any extra serum to rub in. I can't comment on whether or not they help with puffiness because I don't really suffer from that. But I had an irritated eye from getting something stuck in my eye and it helped to reduce redness and calmed down my eye a bit.

Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised with these two bits from the Superdrug Own Brand range. I'll defo be repurchasing these two again in the future as they are great pamper bits. The Nose Pore Strips really helped to draw out the impurities from my nose. Even though I do wish the Eye Patches had a bit more serum on them I really want to try them again when I've put them in the fridge first as they would be even more cooling. Do give them a go if you see them in your local Superdrug, they are great to do a pamper sesh with. Leave a comment if theres any skincare products you've tried lately that you think I should try out next!
