The Hot Cloth Cleanser I Prefer Over Liz Earle

My fave way to take off makeup is by using a hot cloth cleanser as it's a really quick way to remove a full face. What I normally do is smother my face in the cleanser then use a wet muslin cloth to wipe it away and I do this twice. First, to remove makeup and the second time to make sure my face is properly cleansed. Skin is always left feeling clean and refreshed afterwards. I wanted to share with you this Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser and it might shock you as I like it way more than the OG Liz Earle one.

This cleanser is ideal for removing dirt and makeup whilst providing gentle exfoliation. It will help improve circulation, leaving skin deeply cleansed, soft and radiant. Enriched with naturally sourced Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that will help to shield your skin against environmental damage and premature skin ageing by combating the harmful effects of free radicals. The rich and creamy formula also contains vitamins A, B, F and H, which combined with Horse Chestnut extract, helps to care for dry skin.

I really like that when you put this cleanser on it feels like you have just put on a really, super thick, creamy moisturiser. It defo has a way thicker consistency than the Liz Earle one. I find the Superdrug version is great at removing makeup even tough waterproof mascara. It is incredible for dry skin because not only does it not dry skin out, it leaves your face feeling really nourished. Also, I totally agree that skin looks radiant and feels soft after using it. The product description does say it gently exfoliates but you really can't feel that.

The cleanser comes in a 200ml tube which is a very generous amount for a hot cloth cleanser. There's no need to worry about finding a muslin cloth as each tube comes with one!! The Vitamin E cleanser works out as a good deal as you get both bits for £4.99.  Honestly, I really didn't have high hopes for the cloth because the product is so cheap but it is actually surprisingly soft. Liz Earle muslin cloths are softer but you always have to buy them separately to the cleanser or get them in a bundle.

The thing that I didn't like about the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser was the scent and that's what has really put me off from repurchasing it again. To me, it smelt like lemon cough medicine and it put me off from using it because it was quite overpowering. That's why I like this hot cloth cleanser better because it smells amazing and super summery.

I really recommend you trying out this cleanser if you loved the OG Liz Earle one. I honestly don't see myself going back to the Liz Earle one. The Superdrug version is way creamier and works so well with nourishing dry skin, it doesn't have an overpowering smell and is a bargain at just under a fiver.

  1. I'm really fuss-free when it comes to removing my makeup, I always go back to my trusty makeup wipes (bad, i know) but I really want to try a hot cloth cleanser as so many people rave about how lovely they are and how easily they remove makeup! This sounds like a perfect one to start with, I think a Superdrug visit in on the cards! Great review :)

  2. This sounds really good! I used to love Liz Earle just couldn't justify the price. I have recently been using micellar water but I find I need to use so much moisturiser and serum to get moisture back into my skin. Will check this out as it seems very affordable and exactly what I need x
